  • Glorify God for an effective Africa Training Think Tank in South Africa last month. Trust the Father for guidance to implement the strategies.
  • Thank Abba Father for His faithfulness in providing for this department. Pray for enough resources to do effective training across Africa.
  • Exalt the Almighty for good team work in the International Training team. Ask the Spirit for wisdom for all the team leaders so that the training will be beneficial to the whole YFC world.

SOUTHERN REGION [SR]

  • Praise the Lord for committed people serving all over Southern Africa in YFC and for good rest during sabbatical for some of them. Pray for the safety of all NDS and their families, for healing of those who are unwell and comfort for the grieving.
  • We are grateful for safe travels as well as enabling most NDs to attend Indaba in RSA last month and for the good fellowship. May God enable everyone to implement what was discussed.
  • Honour God for some of the SR staff who registered for GA already and for funding. Ask our Provider to enable all to attend.
  • Glorify the Father for ongoing ministry and leadership transitions in the SR nations. Submit Sheunesu’s visits to the nations in the coming months to Him, asking for wisdom as he and EJ want to travel together.

EAST AFRICA REGION

  • Adore the Lord for enabling Cyril to visit Reunion and Madagascar recently. Intercede for him for guidance in his role in the Island Region Leadership.
  • Praise God for faithful staff and volunteers serving all over the Island Region. Trust HIM for many more workers in the Indian Ocean Islands and more open doors to reach young people.
  • Honour the Father for every opportunity we have to proclaim the Gospel on the different islands. Pray that He will protect staff, volunteers and Board members who work here.

WEST AFRICA ANGLOPHONE REGION [WAA]

  • Praise Jesus for Buki from Nigeria who is serving as our regional prayer coordinator. Trust Him for an end to Islamic insurgency in Nigeria.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY [GA]

14-19 SEPTEMBER 2017 in Miami, USA

  • Pray for the finalizing touches to the GA programme.
  • Intercede for the preparations of all speakers, asking that they will have the right messages for the field.
  • Bless Jesus for the funds that already came in for GA. Trust our Provider for the rest of the funding for the conference as well as the conference fees, travelling and visa expenses of all delegates.
  • Ask our Father for a lovely time of fellowship, training and relaxation at GA.

BOTSWANA

  • Bless the Lord for Zillee who ran the Comrades marathon for us as a fundraiser. We continue to trust the Lord for all ministry and personal needs.
  • Worship the Father for 25 children attending the Tapologo Day Care Centre and the good time of rest during the holidays. Pray for the upcoming outreach to Oliphantsdrift by YFC Kgatleng to be fruitful.
  • We are thankful for permission granted to YFC Gaborone to continue to work in the Princess Marina State Hospital until the end of the year. Intercede for this ministry to touch the lives of many patients.

Honour God for a safe trip for George and Charh to the North to prepare for the Sam Rowland outreach 20 June – 04 July. Ask the Spirit to speak into the hearts of young people as Sam will be ministering to them.

BURKINA FASO

  • Trust the Prince of Peace for peace and reconciliation in the country, pray for the protection of Christian young people against the influence and threats of extremists.
  • Bring the need for staff and volunteers to God in order to effectively reach out to the youth of Burkina Faso and to bring the Gospel to many refugees of Mali.
  • We are grateful for the smooth running of the primary & secondary education institution. Intercede for staff and teachers to make a positive impact in the lives of all the learners.
  • Thank God for some board members under the leadership of Mr. Karambiri. Ask the Spirit to add committed men and women to serve on the National Board.

  • Entrust the economic situation in Burundi unto God, they experience terrible electricity and fuel shortages for the past two months.
  • Praise Jesus for His mercy on YFC Burundi for the past 18 years and the opportunity to have a celebration feast with many guests. Pray for the safe arrival of guests, their security and that all the proceedings will go well and that God would be glorified by these celebrations.
  • Exalt our Saviour for the impact of the Gitega International Academy [GIA] in the lives of young people. Intercede for spiritual growth for these young people.
  • We are grateful for the bus that we got for the Makamba School and House of Hope. Ask God to remind the children at the Homes of Hope and GIA about the messages that they hear from us.

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC [CAR]

  • Praise Jesus for Benin’s willingness to pioneer CAR. Pray for open doors for youth ministry.
  • Praise Jesus for a few local volunteers. Entrust Prince Banibe & Princia Demba, Benjamin Batto and Francis Soukamkian to God for wisdom, strength and good health to continue with prayer  triplets and mobilization  of other volunteers.
  • Continue to pray for political stability and that reconciliation will take place after the civil war.

NATION C.

  • Praise Jesus for Madagascar’s willingness to pioneer Nation C. Entrust the pioneering and ministry development process into God’s hands.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO

  • We are grateful for the smooth running of the school in Moramanga. Ask our Father to encourage Julienne with her ministry plans, especially to start a radio ministry on a Catholic radio station.
  • Praise Jesus that it is going well with the English classes in Amparafarafola. Pray that the prison ministry in Tana will grow stronger.
  • Intercede for one of the part time staff in Bakaro whose mother passed away and for healing for everyone in Tana who is struggling with flu.

MALAWI

NIGER

  • Intercede for an end to the extremist attacks on Christians and churches.
  • Praise the Lord for the visit of our RD, Josue recently. Pray that we will implement what was discussed.
  • Worship God for a few National Board of Trustees members. Intercede for them for wisdom and for new members to be added.
  • Appreciate the Father for volunteers who are doing youth ministry, especially the impact of the soccer ministry. Ask Jesus to make the soccer players effective witnesses for Him and to guide the staff as they reach the youth in Niger.

We are grateful for the YFC School and its operations. Trust the Spirit to enable teachers to bring children to Him and that the efforts to disciple youth in churches will be fruitful.

NIGERIA

  • We are grateful for God’s faithfulness in our ministry. Pray that all our endeavours on the International Prayer Day will be successful, especially the one in Akure.

REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

  • Glorify Jesus for amazing youth rallies this past month in Knysna by Team Khanya. Submit the National Board of Trustees unto Jesus for guidance in their YFC tasks.
  • Praise the Lord for the opportunity for YFC KZN to use radio as a platform during Youth month. Entrust the work on the Cyara/Training Centre’s website unto the Lord.
  • Intercede for staff, volunteers and family members who are in need for healing – Jeanette, Abongile, YfC Robertson and the flu outbreak, also for much needed rain in the Western Cape.

 

REUNION

  • Honour the Father for the opportunity to be involved with the Scholar Youth Bible Exhibition for the next year and a half. Pray with us that through this exhibition that will be in all schools in 24 villages many lives of young people would be touched in a positive way.
  • Thank the Lord for enabling us to help with the translation of the Action Bible in Creole. Submit the need to print this Bible unto God in order for young people to have the Word in their hands.
  • Continue to pray for the completion of the Youth Hostel building.

 

RODRIGUES ISLAND

SOUTH SUDAN

  • Pray for political & economic stability – wisdom for the government and a spirit of cooperation among the citizens.
  • Praise Jesus for Clement & Mathias’ willingness to pioneer South Sudan. Trust God for suitable partners in doing youth evangelism and discipleship programmes in South Sudan.
  • We are grateful that we could mobilise 30 people who are willing to stand with us in prayer for this nation. Ask Jehovah Jireh for everything needed to pioneer this country and for safety for the pioneers as they bring the Gospel in a hostile environment.

SWAZILAND

  • Ask for wisdom as we want to re-pioneer ministry in Swaziland.
  • Glorify God for some committed board members. Trust the Spirit for committed people to start the ministry in Swaziland anew, especially for the preparations for a missionary couple to go there.

TANZANIA

  • Keep on praying for complete restoration for Clifton Nyulahe who is under treatment for Hodgkin’s disease.
  • Thank the Lord for committed National Board members. Bring them to the Throne of Grace for wisdom in their YFC ministry.
  • Extol the King of kings for establishing the Ngara chapter. Stand in prayer for this new centre so that many young people will end up in the Kingdom because of work being done here.
  • Honour the Father for the opportunity for Pascal to attend Summer Institute in Canada and for safe travels there. Pray that his time will be beneficial and fruitful.
  • Glorify God for faithful staff and volunteers. Entrust our ministry needs unto God, especially the funding to attend GA.

UGANDA

Miriam Koote – National Director

Petua Nankya – Prayer Coordinator

  • Ask Him for wisdom and provision so that we would be able to pioneer Southern Sudan successfully and for the involvement of Mathias & Clement in this effort.
  • Glorify God for many young people who accepted Jesus as their Saviour recently. Pray for total transformation in their lives and that they will stand strong in their new-found faith.
  • Praise our Master for His faithfulness in our ministry. Trust Him for all our ministry expenses and the resources needed to do our job well.
  • We are grateful for the positive impact that the mentoring programme has on children of the Starfish project. Intercede for these children so that they will strive towards excellence in their education.
  • Honour Jesus for 7 young leaders in an 8-month programme. Ask the Spirit to strengthen them and to enable them to reach out to their peers with Gospel.

ZAMBIA

Mathias T. Bumie – National Ministry Coordinator

  • Exalt the Lord for a successful Father’s Heart seminar last month. Commit the attendees to Him for implementation.
  • Exalt our King for faithful staff & volunteers working in YFC Zambia. Submit our need for more workers unto God, especially a national prayer coordinator.
  • Thank the Father for many open doors to do ministry. Pray that the schools ministry will grow stronger in the second term.
  • Glorify the Father for our Board members. Intercede for them for guidance also for the Board Treasurer, Rev. Patterson and his family after his mother passed away last month.

ZIMBABWE

Sheunesu Masuka [Susan]

Susan Masuka – Prayer Coordinator

  • Thank the Lord for good partnership with SU in Bulawayo. Pray that the June 16 All Night of prayer will be successful.
  • Glory to God for lovely school ministry in all the centres. Intercede for committed volunteers in YFC Zim, as well as enough funds to attend GA in September for Sheunesu and board chair.
  • Praise Jesus for effective Sports Training recently. As the Father that this training will enable us reach more young people and for successful Peer Educators training 5-9 June.
  • We are grateful for ministry and prayer partners. Trust God that more people and groups will make use of the Willow park camp site.

Thank you for faithfully praying with us. We appreciate your involvement very much. Through your prayers you are an effective worker in His harvest field on the continent of Africa.
