  • Praise Jesus for the hard work of Hilary, Charles, Danny & Riraqi in the Area office. Entrust all of them unto the Spirit for guidance and strength in their daily tasks.
  • Glorify God for good meetings for Hilary in America and Canada with friends and supporters. Pray that the partnerships that was formed would be beneficial to each entity.
  • Thank God for committed people serving in YFC Africa. Approach Him for perseverance for them as they serve Him and ask for the salvation and discipleship of many young people.
  • We are grateful for the way the Lord is providing for ministry in Africa through local and international partners. Trust HIM for enough funds and resources to bring the Gospel to youth, trusting that our fundraising efforts on the continent will be successful.

AFRICA LEADERSHIP TEAM [ALT]

  • Thank Adonai for willing ALT members and their good health. Petition Him for a life of obedience, a deep relationship with Jesus and for good health.
  • Honour the Ancient of Days for safe travels and for keeping their families safe in their absence. Intercede for them for guidance and wisdom in their daily tasks and to implement what was decided at the Tanzania meetings.
  • We are grateful for God’s faithful provision to the ALT. Present to our Provider the need for finances enabling them to attend ALT meetings and to visit the nations in their regions, also for safe travels.

TRAINING/DEVELOPMENT DESK [TDD] &

Deputy Area & Training Director: EJ van As [Koekoes]

  • Glorify God for a lovely month of sabbatical leave. Trust the Spirit for guidance for the 2017 training plan and the developments in this department.
  • Praise Jesus for a good effort by all the chartered nations to get their chartering done on time. Ask our Master for a good time of rest for EJ & Koekoes as they take the first part of their sabbatical this month.
  • Thank Abba Father for His faithfulness in providing for this department. Pray for enough resources to do effective training across Africa.
  • Exalt the Almighty for good team work in the International Training team. Bring the Training Think Tank later this month in south Africa unto the Spirit for wisdom, also safe travels and good health for all.

SOUTHERN REGION [SR]

  • Praise the Lord for committed people serving all over Southern Africa in YFC and for good rest during sabbatical for some of them. Pray for the last preparations of the Indaba, also for safe travels and all ND’s to attend.
  • Honour God for a successful chartering process. Ask our Provider for for enough resources to run the SR office and its operations also for an administrator for the regional office.
  • Glorify the Father for ongoing ministry in the SR nations. Submit Sheunesu’s visits to the nations in the coming months to Him.

EAST AFRICA REGION

  • Glorify the Almighty for good health for Josue, Prisca and their 2 sons. Trust HIM for strength, health, spiritual growth and financial provision for them.
  • Thank God for providing for the Akowanou family. Pray that a vibrant YFC ministry will start and continue in every French speaking country.
  • Pray for peace and stability in this region especially against the extremist groups being very active, protection for people and changed hearts.

EAST INDIAN OCEAN ISLAND REGION

  • Intercede for Cyril for guidance in his role in the Island Region Leadership.
  • Praise God for faithful staff and volunteers serving all over the Island Region. Trust HIM for many more workers in the Indian Ocean Islands and more open doors to reach young people.

Honour the Father for every opportunity we have to proclaim the Gospel on the different islands. Pray that He will protect staff, volunteers and Board members who work here.

WEST AFRICA ANGLOPHONE REGION [WAA]

  • Appreciate the Father for the lives of young people and the efforts been made to reach out to them. Pray for political stability in the region as well as an end to Islamist uprising in the region.

Praise Jesus for Buki from Nigeria who is willing to serve as our regional prayer coordinator. Bring her to the Throne of grace for wisdom in this huge task.

SPIRITUAL FORMATION DESK

Spiritual Formation Coordinator: Koekoes van As [EJ]

  • Thank the Almighty One for Desiree who serves as Regional Prayer Coordinator for the SR, Alem for Eastern Region and Buki for West Africa Anglophone Region. Submit these women unto God for wisdom as they coordinate prayer efforts in their regions.
  • We are grateful for the national prayer coordinators serving in Africa. Ask the Spirit for guidance for them; also ask for prayer coordinators for every YFC country in Africa.
  • Admire the Father for prayer supporters carrying our ministry. Trust Him to bless them and to add more prayer warriors to our ranks.
  • Glorify our Master for each member of the International Board of Trustees of YFC. Pray that He will give wisdom to the Board in all they do.

 

GENERAL ASSEMBLY [GA]

14-19 SEPTEMBER 2017 in Miami, USA

  • Pray for the finalizing touches to the GA programme.
  • Intercede for the preparations of all speakers, asking that they will have the right messages for the field.
  • Bless Jesus for the funds that already came in for GA. Trust our Provider for the rest of the funding to organize the conference as well as the conference fees, traveling and visa expenses of all delegates.
  • Ask our Father for a lovely time of fellowship, training and relaxation at GA.

BOTSWANA

  • Bless the Lord for Coert Blom who ran the Two Oceans marathon for us as a fundraiser. We continue to trust the Lord for all ministry and personal needs.
  • Worship the Father for 22 children attending the Tapologo Day Care Centre and the good time of rest during the holidays. Pray urgently for another qualified teacher for this school and the funding for Naomi & Kamogelo to complete their Early Childhood Education training.
  • We are thankful for all the youth we reached this last term. Intercede for more ministry opportunities in the new term.

Honour God for the good time of rest for Koekoes & EJ during their recent sabbatical. Ask the Spirit to speak to the youth we are working with to change their lifestyle in accordance with the Word.

BURKINA FASO

  • Trust the Prince of Peace for peace and reconciliation in the country, pray for the protection of Christian young people against the influence and threats of extremists.
  • Bring the need for staff and volunteers to God in order to effectively reach out to the youth of Burkina Faso and to bring the Gospel to many refugees of Mali.
  • We are grateful for the smooth running of the primary & secondary education institution. Intercede for staff and teachers to make a positive impact in the lives of all the learners.

  • Honour God for His absolute faithfulness to us in ministry. Bring the organizing of the Graduation & Thanksgiving event in June to God – wisdom, provision, etc.

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC [CAR]

  • Praise Jesus for Benin’s willingness to pioneer CAR. Pray for open doors for youth ministry.
  • Intercede for Yves for guidance in implementing the pioneering strategic plan, also pray for the planned journey of 3 intercessors to CAR.
  • Praise Jesus for local volunteers. Entrust Prince Banibe & Princia Demba, Benjamin Batto and Francis Soukamkian to God for wisdom, strength and good health to continue the prayer  triplet and mobilization  of other volunteers.

Continue to pray for political stability and that reconciliation will take place after the civil war.

  • Thank God for the opportunity to reach students from this nation at university in Madagascar. Intercede for brother M for wisdom to reach out to these students to bring the Gospel to them.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO

GUINEA BISSAU

KENYA

  • Honour the Father for 980 young people who accepted Jesus as their Saviour last month through various outreaches. Intercede for spiritual growth and that they will stand strong in their faith.
  • Thank God for completion of a 6-week evangelism training to a local church by YFC staff. Ask our Shepherd for a strong youth ministry to start in the Satelite/Kawangware area.
  • Give glory to Jesus for the newly established committee for Taraja Home. Pray for the 10 new boys who will arrive this month at Taraja and pray for more sponsors for this programme.
  • We are thankful for good partnerships with local churches, schools and other like-minded organisations in reaching the Kenyan youth. Entrust the upcoming Worth the Wait/Abstinence training for 15 volunteer unto our Father.

LESOTHO

  • Praise God for a good staff prayer time recently. Intercede for our country as we prepare for elections – for a peaceful time.
  • Thank Jesus for His provision, protection, guidance and wisdom in our ministry. Ask the Spirit to guide us in running with our vision for this year.
  • We are grateful for the lovely rains and that there was no damage to our homes and the Youth Centre. Pray for a positive outcome between students and government and the need for study fees.

  • Young Pioneer M is busy building relationships with students from nation C in order to evangelise them. Intercede for wisdom for him and receptive hearts for the students.
  • Praise God for the new praise/dance ministry started by Sandy in Fianarantsoa to 440 students. Trust Him for the start of a new club at TLD Centre in Tana.
  • We are grateful for the opening in a school and ministry to 700 students in Bakaro. Ask our Father to help Julienne with her plans to start a radio ministry on a Catholic radio station.
  • Exalt the Lord that our evangelism and discipleship programme for this year was finalized and approved by the board. Entrust Fitia’s plans to start a Bible study group and teach English unto God.

Praise Jesus that it is going well with the English classes in Amparafarafola. Pray that these children will continue growing stronger in their walk with the Father.

MALAWI

  • Bring the huge unemployment situation to God, asking for strategies to create jobs in the country.
  • Please pray with us for someone to lead the ministry in YFC Malawi.
  • Ask for wisdom with the re-pioneering process.
  • Intercede for the re-registration process to be dealt with speedily.
  • Glory be to God for some ministry happening in Malawi by a few committed volunteers. Ask for His direction with the bible study and prayer meetings.

  • Admire the King of kings for good opportunities to reach youth this past year. Ask the Spirit for guidance for a new ministry strategy and approach in order to reach more young people.

MOZAMBIQUE

  • We are thankful for the camps in April at our Hodygos campsite. Trust God to fill it up with groups during May and pray for the registration process to be sorted out soon.
  • Honour God for answered prayer regarding an office assistant. Continue praying for a suitable place to be used as the National Office in Okahandja.
  • Praise our King for all staff, volunteers and Board members. Intercede for us for the funding to attend GA later this year in the USA.

NIGER

  • Intercede for an end to the extremist attacks on Christians and churches.
  • Praise the Lord for the visit of our RD, Josue recently. Pray that we will implement what was discussed.
  • Worship God for a few National Board of Trustees members. Intercede for them for wisdom and for new members to be added.
  • Appreciate the Father for volunteers who are doing youth ministry, especially the impact of the soccer ministry. Ask Jesus to make the soccer players effective witnesses for Him and to guide the staff as they reach the youth in Niger.
  • We are grateful for the YFC School and its operations. Trust the Spirit to enable teachers to bring children to Him and that the efforts to disciple youth in churches will be fruitful.

NIGERIA

  • We are grateful for God’s faithfulness in our ministry. Pray that all our endeavors on the International Prayer Day will be successful, especially the one in Akure.
  • Praise Jesus for committed staff and volunteers. Intercede for guidance in recruiting more staff and volunteers, training for them and the right placements.
  • Worship the Father for providing for us. Bring our fundraising efforts to Him.
  • Thank God for committed National Board members. We Trust our Master to help us to revive dead centres and to pioneer new centre especially in the Northern States.

REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA

  • Praise the Lord for the renovations done at the boys shelter of Kayalethu in YFCKZN. Entrust the need for staff support in East London unto our Provider.

 

REUNION

  • Trust our Provider for enough ministry income to rent a small office and to do youth ministry.

RWANDA

  • Praise be to God for the growing Bible studies in high schools by YFC Rwanda Northern Chapter. Entrust the participants unto God for spiritual growth and to impact their peers.
  • Appreciate the Father for very committed staff and volunteers. Submit them unto the Father for guidance in their daily tasks.
  • Glorify God for faithful National Board members. Trust the Spirit to guide them as they serve alongside us.

Bless Jesus for the excellent training for volunteers and young entrepreneurs recently. Ask HIM to enable the attendees to put into practice what they’ve heard.

SEYCHELLES

  • Thank the Lord for the impact of the Kenema Missions Outreach. Stand with us in prayer for the spiritual growth of the 70 people who accepted the Lord.

Worship our Master for providing for us. Pray that He will bless us with enough funds and resources to do our ministry well.

SOUTH SUDAN

  • Pray for political & economic stability – wisdom for the government and a spirit of cooperation among the citizens.
  • Praise Jesus for Clement & Mathias’ willingness to pioneer South Sudan. Trust God for suitable partners in doing youth evangelism and discipleship programmes in South Sudan.

We are grateful that we could mobilise 30 people who are willing to stand with us in prayer for this nation. Ask Jehovah Jireh for everything needed to pioneer this country and for safety for the pioneers as they bring the Gospel in a hostile environment.

SWAZILAND

  • Ask for wisdom as we want to re-pioneer ministry in Swaziland.
  • Glorify God for some committed board members. Trust the Spirit for committed people to start the ministry in Swaziland anew, especially for the preparations for a missionary couple to go there.

TANZANIA

  • Bless our Healer that it is going well with Clifton Nyulahe who is under treatment for Hodgkin’s disease. Keep on praying for complete restoration.
  • Thank the Lord for committed board members and guidance to the ministry leadership. Bring our need for more full time staff and volunteers to the Throne of Grace, asking also for enough staff support.
  • Extol the King of kings for the good school ministry in 3 schools by our Evangelism team, 10 youth came to the Lord. Stand in prayer for their spiritual growth and discipleship.
  • Honour the Father for the opportunity to Canada for Pascal. Pray that his time will be beneficial and fruitful.

Glorify God for faithful staff and volunteers. Entrust our normal ministry operations to God.

UGANDA

Miriam Koote – National Director

  • Ask Him for wisdom and provision so that we would be able to pioneer Southern Sudan successfully and for the involvement of Mathias & Clement in this effort.
  • Glorify God for many young people who accepted Jesus as their Saviour recently. Pray for total transformation in their lives and that they will stand strong in their new-found faith.
  • Praise our Master for His faithfulness in our ministry. Trust Him for all our ministry expenses and the resources needed to do our job well.
  • We are grateful for the positive impact that the mentoring programme has on children of the Starfish project. Intercede for these children so that they will strive towards excellence in their education.

Honour Jesus for 7 young leaders in an 8-month programme. Ask the Spirit to strengthen them and to enable them to reach out to their peers with Gospel.

ZAMBIA

Mathias T. Bumie – National Ministry Coordinator

  • Exalt the Lord for a successful National board meeting. Commit the decisions made into the hands of God.
  • Exalt our King for faithful staff & volunteers working in YFC Zambia. Submit the intended visit to Mpulungu unto Him.

Thank the Father for many open doors to do ministry. Pray that the Youth Seminar 10-12 May will be fruitful.

ZIMBABWE

Sheunesu Masuka [Susan]

Susan Masuka – Prayer Coordinator

  • Thank God for safety and a good time of rest during Easter. Pray for the approval of the Campus Life constitution in Gweru.
  • Glory to God for the regular SOLID bible study at the centre. Intercede for Sheunesu and the staff for guidance in their daily tasks and also pray for more volunteers.
  • Praise Jesus for an amazing Youth Leadership Training seminar for churches done recently. Ask the Father for more youth to attend the program in Victoria Falls.
  • We are grateful for a good team building with 105 Anglican girls at the Willow Park camp site. Trust God that more people and groups will make use of this facility.

Thank you for faithfully praying with us. We appreciate your involvement very much. Through your prayers you are an effective worker in His harvest field on the continent of Africa.
