Our friends in Myanmar have asked for prayer as they respond to the growing humanitarian needs due to flooding in their country. Heavy rains and flooding during monsoon season are common, but the rains have been unusually heavy this year.
A colleague visited Bago City (50 miles northeast of Yangon) 2nd August 2015 and said there were 9 refugee camps housing around 2,000 people each (300-400 families). Staff are preparing rice packets and cooking meals in the Bago Youth Centre to provide for families in two of the most needy camps. At least 17 families connected to YFC have been displaced and are sheltering at one of the camps in Bago.
- Pray that God would graciously provide all the essential needs (security, shelter, food, water) to the families that have been displaced from their homes.
- Ask for strength and safety as YFC staff and other organisations travel to the hardest hit areas delivering food supplies.
Your gift will go directly to those affected by the flooding including the 17 families connected to YFC. Please use the donation box (above, right).
